The Institutional Proposal is the first stage in the three-stage accreditation review cycle and guides the entire accreditation review process. It establishes a framework for connecting each institution’s context and priorities with the Standards of Accreditation for the accreditation review. Once accepted, the proposal serves as the primary basis for both institutional self-review and team evaluation, and is given to the Capacity and Preparatory (CPR) and the Educational Effectiveness (EER) review teams and the Commission, along with the Accreditation Standards, as the basis upon which the evaluation of the institution should occur. The Institutional Proposal is peer-reviewed by the Proposal Review Committee (PRC).
Institutional Proposals are due on May 15 or October 15. It is strongly recommended that institutions submit a draft copy of their proposal to their WASC staff liaison for review prior to submitting the final version.
