Commission Transitions

WASC is pleased to welcome three new members to the commission this summer: D. Merrill Ewert, President of Fresno Pacific University; Harold Hewitt, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Chapman University; and Julia Lopez, Chief Executive officer of the College Access Foundation of California. They will replace retiring commission members Mark Bookman, Senior Vice President and Provost at American Jewish University; Larry Gould, Counsel at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, LLP; and Louanne Kennedy, Emeritus Provost and Vice President at California State University, Northridge. The commission expressed its sincerest thanks to the retiring commissioners for their many years of service to the region and looks forward to working with the newly elected commissioners in the coming years.

We are also pleased to announce that Linda Johnsrud, Vice President for Academic Planning at the University of Hawaii has agreed to serve as Vice Chair of the Commission for the 2009-10 academic year.
