Proposal Review Committee (PRC)

The Proposal Review Committee reviews all Institutional Proposals submitted as part of the institutional review process to ensure that the institution’s planned review will effectively
demonstrate that:

  • The institution fulfills the two Core Commitments for accreditation: Capacity and Educational Effectiveness
  • The institution’s staged review processes (Capacity and Preparatory Review and Educational Effectiveness Review) are interrelated and concomitant;
  • The institution has provided the resources and time necessary for the review.

The PRC convenes twice a year via conference call or in person to review Institutional Proposals. Meetings take place in late fall (November/December) and early summer (June/July). Institutions are invited to participate in the review via conference call to answer questions or provide clarification. After the review, the committee may approve Proposals or request revisions to Proposals, which are then re-evaluated by the PRC.
