Printer-friendly versionStandards for Participation on WASC Google Groups
The WASC Google Groups have been created to encourage communication and networking among WASC-accredited institutions. Communications through the listservs are intended to be supportive, and to serve as an information source. Entry-level questions are considered quite acceptable and encouraged, as are more complex and challenging areas of inquiry. We are seeking to create a "learning community."
Here are some helpful tips to help you get started:
- Introduce yourself. If you are new to the listserv, please tell us who you are in your first post (name, title, organization, URL) so we have a sense of the person behind the content.
- Don't be shy. Everyone's opinions are welcome and every question deserves an answer!
- Be positive. Feel free to engage in a spirited discussion or disagree; however, avoid "flaming" or attacking individuals (members and non-members) and organizations. We ask that you refrain from using profane, obscene, intolerant, or abusive language, or from being rude or abusive towards other people. Everyone who posts is a person, not just a username.
- Get permission before your forward. In the interests of maintaining a positive focus where people feel free to air issues they are worried about without fear of oversight by third parties, we want to remind you that postings to the list are for listserv members only. Messages on this listserv are confidential. They are not to be forwarded to people who are not members of the group without the permission of all contributors to the content of the message. If you know other people who may be interested in their content, encourage them to join the WASC listservs through our web site at http://www.wascsenior.org/groupsignup
