Workshop facilitators Mary Allen and Amy Driscoll will lead this retreat-style workshop designed to support WASC campuses as they strive to become more learning-centered.
Blending presentations with interactive exercises and plenty of team time, the workshop will guide participants through a sequence of assessment-related tasks that can be applied to their campus or program needs.
Topics include:
Workshop activities are constructivist and learner-centered; they're equally appropriate for general education, liberal arts majors, and professional programs.
Teams will focus on a project they define to suit their campus needs. After registering, teams will be asked to submit a brief project description. This will help teams to get the most benefit from the retreat and help mentors to facilitate their progress.
Teams will attend a variety of plenary and break-out sessions where they can gather information and share experiences with other campuses. They'll also receive one-on-one mentoring, get peer feedback on their own work, and - best of all - they'll return home with an implementation plan.
This workshop is best suited to institutions or programs in the early stages of implementing assessment.
WASC Assessment workshops are specifically designed for institutional teams made up of two or more persons. We will accept individuals, but they should understand that sending a team will provide the greatest benefit.
This educational program is provided as a service and a support to our member institutions and others who wish to attend. While optional for any institution, efforts are made to provide information about effective practices that aligns with WASC accreditation expectations.
Registration fees: $485/per team member.
