May 14-15, 2009 - North Hollywood, CA
Maryka Biaggio and several co-facilitators will lead this retreat-style workshop designed to support psychology departments of WASC campuses in developing an assessment plan for their undergraduate programs.
Interactive plenary presentations will alternate with break-out sessions to provide teams with a firm foundation for making key decisions about an assessment strategy for their psychology program.
This workshop is designed to help participants:
Teams will focus on a project they define to suit their campus needs. After registering, teams will be asked to submit a brief project description. This will help teams get the most benefit from the retreat and assist mentors in facilitating their progress.
Teams will attend a variety of plenary and break-out sessions in which they can gather information and share experiences with other campuses. They'll also receive one-on-one mentoring, get peer feedback on their own work, and return home with resource materials to assist them in developing and designing an assessment plan.
This workshop is best suited to psychology department in the early stages of implementing assessment.
This workshop is specifically designed for institutional teams made up of two or more persons. We therefore cannot accept individuals who are not part of a campus team.
Registration fees: $475 per team member.
This workshop will take place at the Beverly Garland's Holiday Inn in North Hollywood. WASC workshop participants have been offered a discounted room rate of $159/night, plus tax. The deadline for booking rooms in the WASC room block is April 22, 2009 (based on availability).
